Carl’s Broiled Brussels Sprouts
Break the curse of yucky veggies! These sprouts are so good, your kids will ask for seconds!

  1. To prepare sprouts, cut off the bottoms and then cut into quarters. Place into a cast iron skillet, or any heavy duty fry pan that can take 500 degree F heat.
  2. Add oil, kosher salt, and black pepper to taste
  3. Optionally add bacon or chopped hazelnuts (Thanks, Richard Campbell for that tip)
  4. Place directly under the broiler on the top rack for 5 minutes or until dark and crispy (like our photo)
  5. Optionally sprinkle with shredded cheese and place back in the broiler for 1-2 minutes or until cheese has melted
