Do I need to take nutritional supplements?

When in ketosis, your kidneys are removing more salts from your bloodstream. Therefore, you need to take in a modicum of salt every day, the equivalent of 2 cups of salty broth. You will also need to supplement electrolytes: Magnesium, Potassium, and Calcium. You can take a supplement that has all 3, individual supplements, or you can drink bone broth (stock made from simmering bones – chicken soup, for example). Bone broth has the minerals and salts you need.

There is a great recipe for brown chicken stock on Richard Morris’ blog: http://easylocarb.com/recipe/brown-chicken-stock/
