Carl’s Low-Carb Belgian Waffles
This waffle is nice. Just be careful when you cook it that it doesn’t burn. 2g to 3g of carbs for the entire batch. Makes 3 round Belgian Waffles. This recipe relies on CarbQuik, a pre-made low-carb flour mixture for baking.
I introduced this recipe on my ketogenic lifestyle podcast with Richard Morris, 2 Keto Dudes.

Instructions
- Separate the eggs and beat the whites until stiff
- Beat the egg yolks, sour cream, and cream cheese until smooth
- Slowly add melted butter while mixing
- Add sweetener, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder, vanilla, and mix well
- Add CarbQuick and mix
- Slowly add heavy cream until batter consistency is reached, up to 1/2 cup
- Fold in egg whites
- Cook in waffle iron on 50% heat. They will brown quickly and be done sooner than you expect. Don't be afraid to go past the beep and really crisp them up. Slather with soft butter and serve with your favorite low carb syrup or topping
I am following your blog from South Africa. Is there a substitute for Carbquix that you could recommend that is available here?
How is this 2-3 carbs for the whole batch, using 1/2 c. CARB QUICK, when 1/3 c. = 16 carbs?
Net carbs. You subtract the fiber from total carbs.
Best syrup?
Most sugar-free syrups will do. Check label.
Mrs. butter worth’s sugar free is my favorite but Pinterest has some amazing looking homemade syrup recipes!

Since the ingredients of carb quick included wheat flour, I went looking for a homemade version and found this: http://generositiesoftheheart.blogspot.com/2015/06/breads-homemade-carbquik-bisquick.html
I made this homemade carbquick this morning and then made Carl’s waffles. Husband declared them the best thing he had ever eaten.
Oh my this was a delicious recipe! Thank you so much!!
Just tried today. These by far are the best low carb waffles I have had. This helped me with a craving for a pancake. Thanks!
